I heard today on NPR and read in the Auburn/Opelika News that the State Board will meet Thursday to vote on a repeal of the Common Core Standards. I wanted to make each of you aware of what was currently happening in the state as a part of EACTM.

EACTM is a partner of ACTM and NCTM. NCTM president had this to say on November 1, 2011 regarding retraction of the standards: http://www.nctm.org/about/content.aspx?id=31431 .
I received an e-mail from Ned Colley, TI Education Technology Consultant, with a list of grant opportunities. I thought some of you may be interested in this. He said some of these have very minimal paper work to apply. He also reminded me that TI offers free assistance with grant writing (Colley, Ned [ncolley@ti.com]).
