TEAM-Math, in cooperation with EARIC and EACTM, will be hosting an Equity Conference:
“Preparing All Students to Be College and Career Ready in Mathematics”
July 27, 2012, 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
Auburn University Hotel & Conference Center.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Lisa Dieker from the University of Central Florida. She is known for her research related to the inclusive mathematics classroom. Much of her focus has been on special needs students. She and her colleagues have a chapter in Focus in High School Mathematics: Fostering Reasoning and Sense Making for All Students, a book published by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She has also worked extensively with elementary teachers. Dr. Marilyn Strutchens, co-director of TEAM-Math and noted researcher of equity issues, will provide additional insights into ensuring the success of all students.
