Dear Affiliate President, 

The NCTM Nominations and Elections Committee is pleased to announce the candidates for the 2021 Board of Directors election. 

Candidates for President-Elect (one will be elected) 

Frederick L. Dillon, Lesley University, Strongsville, Ohio 

Kevin Dykema, Mattawan Middle School, Mattawan, Michigan 

Candidates for Director, High School or Middle School Level (one will be elected) Maci Nelson, Robert Eagle Staff Middle School, Seattle, Washington 

Dianna M. Sopala, Northern Valley Regional High School, Demarest, New Jersey 

Candidates for Director, At-Large (three will be elected) 

Kyndall Brown, California Mathematics Project, Los Angeles, California 

Zandra de Araujo, University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri 

Ruth Heaton, Teachers Development Group, West Linn, Oregon 

Michael D. Steele, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Paola Sztajn, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina

We hope that you and your members will vote in the election, which will be conducted online from  February 15 through April 1. 

To ensure strong candidates in the future, we encourage you and your members to nominate eligible  candidates for the 2022 election. Nominations will be accepted online from July 15 to September 1,  2021, for the following positions: 

Board of Director: Four (4) positions are available. An individual must have been a member of the  Council continuously during the preceding three (3) years and must have served on a major committee  of the Council, in another leadership role in the Council, or in an Affiliate leadership role. 

To ensure balanced representation as required by the NCTM Bylaws, the need to fill specific Board positions for the 2022 election will be determined after the 2021 election. You can also help the  Council by nominating promising members for leadership roles on committees, task forces, editorial  panels, and conference support.
